The Gorge

The Gorge

Everyone kept talking about this movie so finally got aroudn to watching it and....I give it a resounding "Eh". There are spoilers ahead so proceed with caution.

Probably over-hyped in my little world, but I found it to be super predictable and cliche. From seeing Sigourney Weaver in the beginning I had already pegged her as the villain. No idea why; either intuition or as I said, cliche.

Of course the two main characters fell in love. Because of course they do. Of course the main guy had to have a "sorted past" because no one can have a normal main character thats just 'normal'. No - they have to have some sort of brooding past that drives them to do the things they do in the movie. It can never just be a well adjusted normal every day guy who wants to just do the right thing. Nope. Gotta be fucked up past. (I'm looking at you Fire Country.)

Of course the <thing> is chemical testing on soldiers and what not. Like - could Apple spend some additional money from their billions of profit to come up with any sort of new ideas? Maybe not.

Either way - I will say it is a good popcorn movie. Just turn your brain off and enjoy the show - try not to dive too much into the plot.

I give it 2 "ehs" out of 5 stars.
